Francis & Mary Shanahan Company Founders/Principals 45 Years Experience
Francis (Fuzz) and Mary, along with two brothers and their spouses, started Shanahan Brothers Construction in 1970. After considerable growth, Shanahan Brothers Construction was incorporated in 1979. Francis and his two sons, Jerome and Richard, purchased the Company in 1989. Francis, now in his 80’s, continues to serve an active role providing his knowledge and expertise. Francis still occasionally operates his favorite machine, a dozer.
Mary has been the bookkeeper since the Company started in 1970. Now in her late 70’s, she continues to assist others in that capacity, and is still involved in the daily operations. Her knowledge and expertise continue to be of great value to the Company.
Jerome Shanahan Principal 29 Years Experience
Jerome has been involved with the field operation of the Company since 1979. As a heavy equipment operator and a skilled scraper operator, he has assisted in the construction of many projects.
Richard L Shanahan President/Principal 29 Years Experience
Richard started with the management and project estimating of the Company after graduation from high school in 1979. His education in Construction Management at the University of Nebraska from 1985 to 1990 has proven to be a valuable asset. Richard is involved in daily field operations, as well as in the overall management of the Company.
Myron E Schellhorn Vice President/Chief Operating Officer 16 Years Experience
Myron attended Southeast Community College in 1982, studying Surveying and Drafting. He then attended the University of Nebraska in Construction Management from 1986 to 1991 to further his education, which continues to enhance the Company. In 1992, Myron started operating heavy equipment, surveying, estimating, and managing projects. With the Company’s growth, he has become primarily involved with overall management of financial aspects, projects, and job estimating.
LaVerne L Krivanek General Superintendent 43 Years Experience
Vern started with the Company as a heavy equipment operator in 1993. He has worked for multiple grading contractors since 1965 and has extensive experience with heavy earthmoving equipment and project management. After Vern was hired he was quickly promoted to superintendent and now is working as general superintendent for all of Shanahan’s projects. Vern’s skills are valuable in managing difficult projects with tight completion schedules.
